Each day has been so tough all around the world. But we also want to celebrate the happy things –  such as introducing artist Lilly McLean.  She has agreed to a special commission rate for new clients, providing you let her know that you discovered her through Secret Design Studio.

Artist Lilly McLean creates feel-good art to bring joy and happiness.

Lilly has been a passionate artist for some years now and commenced her University career studying Fine Arts at The University of Melbourne, at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she was one of the youngest students in her first year.   Students from the University of Melbourne may be familiar with her name as she was regularly published in “Farrago” which is the magazine published by the Melbourne University Student Union when she attended in 2016.

She has also studied at RMIT in Fine Arts, and has now progressed to Deakin University where she is studying philosophy (amongst other things). Lilly says that she was working as an educational mentor, nanny and as a freelance illustrator, alongside part-time study.  Since her return from India at the start of 2020 (well before the pandemic) she has decided to focus on her feel-good art to bring joy and happiness to her commission clients.

While each of her commissioned portraits are elegantly simple, and understated she successfully manages to capture the spirit of her subject.  In these troubled times we need to cherish our family and friendships, and what better way to celebrate the important people in your life than commissioning Lilly to create something unique that will be treasured for years to come.
