We had no idea what we were taking on several years ago when purchasing a beachside mid-century property.

Thankfully we recently discovered “Dr Retro House Calls” and engaged Alistair to architecturally assess and advise on our options on a home that it turns out has a lot of problems. While we discovered Alistair’s services when searching for information about honouring the mid-century style, it turns out that without his advice we may have marched forward, spending on aesthetic and comfort factors without knowledge of essential issues like integrity of the building, and heat, airflow, light and safety issues.

With the consultation we received advice on both how to achieve our big picture desired outcomes as well as on the myriad of details we need to consider including product/finish considerations that meet our exacting needs. Alistair is exceptionally well organised, and adaptable (necessary due Covid restrictions!) and provides a wealth of information. He provided answers to our many questions, and more, so that we can now make an informed decision about how to proceed. Very grateful for this unique service.
