We have had two site visits from Alistair – a few years apart – and each time he has impressed us with his knowledge of Mid-Century Architecture, his enthusiasm and professionalism and, best of all, his cost-effective ‘WOW’ solutions.

Before our 21 May 2021 site visit by Alistair, he prepared various design options in response to a list of our 10 top ‘house issues’ we were allowed to give him to research beforehand. Once again, Alistair delivered some very exciting design options which we can’t wait to implement in our 1970s house in Melbourne. Watch this space!

In particular, we really appreciate that Alistair understands our ‘champagne tastes on a beer budget’ and we have never felt pressured to spend beyond our budget. This latest visit included advice on paint colours, ‘groovy’ wall treatments, cost-effective bathroom and kitchen makeovers, creating a home office, deck extensions and outdoor furniture.

Alistair packed a LOT of ideas into our two-hour site meeting. And we are very excited by his ‘outside the box’ fun idea for one of our living areas. It will be a real transformation.

Our renovation is ‘a work in progress’ and we look forward to another ‘Dr Retro House Call’ visit down the track.”
