Secret Design Studio is a small, boutique building and interior design studio that specialises in retro homes of the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s.
One of this client’s challenges was finding a suitable colour for the exterior fascias and gutters that needed repainting. Her house has an unusual cement brick with a green undertone. She had spent much time looking online for inspiration, but as her brick’s material and colour are fairly rare, she could not source any relevant photos. ![]()

Before the visit, I narrowed the Dulux range of 4800 colours to four good possible solutions and left her with A4-sized samples. With exterior colours, it is always best to live with samples for at least a week to see how your perception of those colour samples changes under different light conditions. It will be interesting to see which option she selects.![]()
